Our founding board members at the first meeting 2020-2021
The Sugarloaf Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association (SuES PTA) is a nonprofit organization composed of dedicated parents, staff, and community members committed to supporting our school. We warmly welcome everyone to join us in our mission to Create, Collaborate, and Build Community. As part of the broader National PTA network, our goal is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Through various programs, events, and initiatives, we work together to enhance the educational experience and foster a nurturing environment for every student at Sugarloaf Elementary.
The PTA board plays a vital role in keeping the organization running smoothly and effectively. While we help plan and support events, programs, and fundraisers that benefit the school and students, much of the work is done by dedicated parent volunteers who serve as committee chairs. These volunteers take the lead in organizing and managing various initiatives, and the board serves as a bridge between them and the school.
Our primary responsibility is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the PTA as a nonprofit organization. This includes ensuring financial accountability, maintaining compliance with PTA bylaws, and fulfilling reporting requirements at the county, state, and national levels. We also work to foster open communication between parents, teachers, and school administration, making sure that the PTA remains a strong and effective advocate for our students.
By working together—parents, volunteers, and board members—we create a supportive and engaged school community that benefits all children at Sugarloaf Elementary.
